self-share
Thanks to my good friend Amy Blair, I’ve just launched myself a tumblog @ spikedpassion.tumblr.com. All-in-all, I think it’s a terriffic expansion on Twitter’s ability to microblog and share one’s spontatneous thoughts and discoveries with the world. I took a minute to Google myself and have discovered that my tweets are now populating residual sites that sample from the entire collection of twitterings — I’m a little bit frightened, I have to admit. While I will also admit to a momentary obsession with the site’s ability to add a soundtrack to your musings, I’m a little disappointed that the seemingly powerful built-in functions for posting video, chats, and emails are lackluster.
Have I been sucked in by the self-service universe, with too many outlets for recording my momentary thoughts, internet browsings and curiosity satisfactions? If I keep posting and tweeting and tumbling along, where will I end up? What sort of history will I have recorded for myself?
